Fundación COMUNARTES is a non-profit organization created to manage and execute projects that promote the development of communities and collectives through the strengthening of technological, audiovisual, communicational, creative and artistic capacities.
As a Foundation, we understand that, at present, audiovisual production has become a fundamental element as a means of communication for artistic, commercial and educational productions and has come to have a high importance in traditional media and social networks, so there is not much time left for this medium to become a means of social and political advocacy, through which communities and collectives achieve changes for their own benefit.
Salvadoran independent audiovisual producer and university professor, with a degree in Communications with a specialization in film and television production from the Universidad Atlántico Norte in Spain.
He has worked in the field of audiovisual communication since 2010, working in film and television, in addition to continuous training by participating in various prestigious international workshops.
Director and producer of numerous short films, including El regalo (2021), which was selected as part of the Cine de pueblos originarios y afrodescendientes showcase of the Ambulante Film Festival / Netflix Latin America, and Carne y ceniza (2024), financed and selected by CREA 2024, thanks to the support of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Government of Guatemala.
He currently teaches film production and television production at the Universidad Doctor Andrés Bello.
His feature film Carne y ceniza was selected to participate in the Icaro Mercado program for the Icaro 2023 International Filmmakers Meeting, held in Guatemala, and also participated in the Central American and Caribbean Audiovisual Market, held in Costa Rica last September.
Founder of the Central American Collective and currently serves on several boards and committees. She has won accolades for her leadership in the community and has been named one of the Mujeres Destacadas by Rumbo newspaper, as well as one of Houston's Influential Latinos by Latino Leaders magazine.
She is the director of GAIA Films, an independent production company of educational, cultural, environmental and human rights material. Her documentary “La guardiana del bosque y el Roble que comía árboles”, was winner in the Icaro 2023 Festival, in the documentary feature film category. He studied journalism at the University of El Salvador and has been self-taught in filmmaking and audiovisual direction.
A creative enthusiast and passionate about storytelling. She has directed, produced and written her own independent short films with the help of her diverse skills spanning graphic design, video editing and photography.
He won the Best Sound Award at the 4th Short Film Festival ESCINE (Escuela de Cine y Arte Audiovisual de El Salvador) for the short film Amargo, the Best Director Award at the Torogoz Film Festival of the Universidad Dr. José Matías Delgado, the Best Music Video Award for Cuantos, and the Best Screenplay Award at the FAV (Festival Audiovisual Mónica Herrera).
Freelance illustrator and writer; he has participated in the short film "Break makes me feel free" by director German Hernández and has illustrated Solomon group's mascot and Semaforín. He is currently working on the project "El regalo", an animated short film based on a story by Claudia Lars.
The Pineda twins share a passion for film criticism and film production. They have organized several film clubs at the student level. In addition, their experience includes hosting the film podcast "Ellos viven" and producing and directing short films independently.
